The revenue for the year was £273,800 above the estimate, leaving a. surplus of rent year’s revenue show an increase of £453,580, and the expenditure an, increase of £453,896. The estimated: surplus of' £4955. The proposals include one for increasing the port accommodation at Brisbane at a cost of over £BOO,OOO. The estimates provide for £IOO,OOO for increasing the pay of the lower grade railway employees. The Treasurer claimed that there was abundant evidence that Queensland continued to progress in a marked manner. Ho hoped the losses by the sugar industry as the result of floods and the strike would not bo so great as was at one time expected.
