FIRES.
FIVE-ROOMED HOUSE DESTROYED. CFER PRESS ASSOCIATION. 1 DUNEDIN, Sept. 11. A five-roomed house in William. Street Mornington, owned .and! occupied by George Duncan Tliom,. was destroyed by fire to-night. There was no one at home at the time. Mrs Thom was on a visit to her married son a few doors away, and smelt, something burning, and on going outside shp discovered her house in flames. • The house was insured for £2OO, and the furniture for £IOO in the Standard Office. ■ A number of carpenter’s tools which, with a lathe, Were insured for £SO, were destroyed, but the lathe was saved.
