IMPORTS AND EXPORTS FOR AUGUST. The following statement showing the trade of the port during the month of August was laid' orr the table at the Harbor Board meeting yesterday: IMPORTS. Timber, 575.771 super, feet; posts and strainers. 3660; bricks. 500; lime. 19 tons; cement, 240 tons 18cwfc; coal, 705 tons; horses and cattle, 34; sheep, 152 ; coastal wool, 24 bales; grass-seed, 251 sacks; potatoes, 1749 sacks; oats, 2786 sacks; chaff, 2556 sacks; wheat, 50 sacks; malt, 150 sacks; bran and pollard. 529 sacks,; coke, 27 tons; flour, 1101 tons; sugar, 48 tons; salt, 81 tons; kerosene and benzine, 1411 cases; fruit, 76 tons (cubic) and 5 barrels; wines, 4£ tons (cubic); spirits, 35£ tons (cubic); motor car. 1; wire, 27§ tons; miscellaneous, 1738 tons (weight and measurement). EXPORTS. Butter, 81 boxes; preserved meats, 112 tons; tallow, 1 ton 6cwt.; hides, 818; sheepskins, 3480; manure, 24 tons; woof. 3 bales; sheep, 462; cattle and’ horses, 164; grass-seed, 1 sack; maize,. 1569 sacks; barley, 1 sack; linseed, 81 sacks; potatoes, 11 sacks; fruit, § ton (cubic); cheese \ ton (cubic); miscellaneous, 488 tons (weight and measurement).
