The Council met at 2.30 p.m. Replying to the Hon. C. H. Mills, who. asked why members of the Legislative Council did not receive copies of the invitations extended on two accajdons to eight members of the New Zealand Parliament, to be present at the Coronation, and also whether the Minister would lay the correspondence on the subject on the table, Sir J. G. Findlay said his answer to the first question would be found in Hansard No. 10, 1911, and in answer to the other question he said “No.” Leave was granted to the Hen. bir M O’Rorke to introduce a Bill to enable the Senate of New Zealand University to grant degrees of divinity. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. SEVERAL BILLSDEALT WITH. In the House of Representatives in the afternoon the Waikowhai Park Bill was read a third time and passed. The Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Bill was read a second time, and the House went into Committee on the Hutt County Bill, and adjourned till the evening.^ The House resumed at 7.30. The Heathcote County Boundary, City of Christchurch Empowering, Mosgiei Borough Empowering, Awatere County, and Franklin and Manakau Counties Bills, were reported from committee.. . The Ashley Subdivision and Wai-makariri-Asliiev Water Supply Board Bill were reported from 'Committee. (Left Sitting.)
