LONDON WOOL SALES. [UNITED PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Oct. 3. At the wool sales there is a 1 strong market for best wools. • Mediums and faulties are slow. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following cablegram from their London house re wool sales: —“As compared with last sales’ closing rates pric, es are about the same for greasy merino super and greasy crossbred lambs. About par and coarse greasy crossbred; iabout 5 per cent, lower for lambs, fine crossbred, coarse scoured crossbred, crossbred slipe, greasy merino inferior, and scoured merino super; about 5 per cent, to 7-2- per cent, lower for scoured merino medium and medium crossbred, scoured merino inferior. Sales progressing firmly, but some iri’egularity in the bidding. America not operating. The Bank of New Zealand to-day received the following cable from their London office re wool sales:— Cui’rent prices for North Island farmers’ lots: Medium crossbreds, 36-40’s quality, average condition, B£d to 9d; medium crossbreds. 44-46’s quality, 9d to 9fd; fine crossbreds, 50’s quality, 10Jd to llJrd. Current prices for South Island farmers’ lots: Inferior merino common (60-64’s quality), 9d to 91d per lb ; superior: mei’ino super (60-64’s quality), 12-|d to lsljd; half or quar-ter-bred (566’s quality, ’ average condition), 10Id to llid.
