HORSES KILLED BY TRAIN.

CATASTROPHE AT STANLEY ROAD Two horses that were grazing on the railway line in the vicinity of Lytton Road were killed bv the outward train to Waikohu yesterday m'flrnmg, and a third was severely cut about. One ot the horses killed belonged to Air Hard*ing, and the other to Air F. Lowndes. The latter also owned the horse that was injured, and he has hopes of saving it. but it will be some time before he can put it into work again. 'The horses got out- of the paddock by some means, and entered the railway line through the Stanley Road gate, which had: been left open. The tram did not sustain much injury as the result of the collision.
