AVhen the door was lifted the injured man was seen to be lying over the channeling at the edge of the footpath, and . was apparently suffering intense assistance was summoned, and the victim was removed to the hospital a little later. Inquiries made last night elicited the information that an examination had revealed the fact.that the injured man had sustained a serious spinal fracture. He had, however, slept a little during the evening, and was as comfortable as could be expected. It was considered premature to say anything regarding the immediate prospects of recovery.
