ROWING.
GISBORNE CLUB. \ meeting of the management- committee was held in the boathouse last evening. There were present Messrs. W S. Coleman (in the chair), R. Dobson D. Faram, 0. Hansen, I. Quigley, J. Somervell, H. Tocker, and L. Bright (hon. secretary). This was the first meeting held in the club’s committee room, which has been suitably furnished for the purpose. Subscription lists were produced, showing a substantial amount in hand for the erection of a tramway for pleasure boats, and it was decided to go on with the work. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs. Dobson and McConville for their generous donations towards furnishing the committee room. It was announced that Mr. J. M. Curtis, a prominent member of the club, was leaving Gisborne, and the secretary was instructed to write liim conveying the regrets of the committee at his leaving the district, and congratulating him on his promotion. The following new members were elected:—A. File, J. Donnelly, W. R. Cammock, J. Melville, and W. Blakely. It was reported that the overhaul of the plant was nearing completion, and one boat was just about ready to take the water.
