(Per Press Association.) AVELLINGTON. Oct. 24

The following is the weather summary and forecast: . A westerly low premure area has developed in the south, and strong northerly and weste’lv winds have prevailed with gales on the west coast and at Stephen Island. Rain has fallen on the west coast, and cdoudy weather has spread over the Dominion. The present indications arc for high northerly and westerly winds, changing to southerly for a short time and then backing again. Expect wet and stormy weather generally. and two short cold snaps in the sofuth within the week- Tire' b irnmeter is very unsteady everywhere, falling and rising quiekly.
