SHOCK CAUSES DEATH. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received 12.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 25. Alfred Andrews was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for assaulting a woman. When the woman’s father was informed of the nature of the assault he was seized witn a paralytic stroke and died. FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. (Received October 25, 11.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, Oet. 25. A serious motor' accident occurred at Manly. A. wheel' collapsed and the car overturned, the occupants being pinned underneath. Mr Troughton was killed, and Irene 1 Sandemaii, a beauty actress, is in a critical condition. The driver, Evans, is seriously hurt, and Wood, the other occupant, is slightly injured. MELBA’S SUCCESS. Remarkable scenes took place in connection with Melba’s concert last night. Many waited at the booking office since eight o’clock yesterday night, and bought tickets at nine o’clock 10-da. They waited all day at the theatre for the evening performance. Women waited eleven hours, and fainted when about to enter the door, and missed tickets. Thousands were disappointed. COLLISION IN SYDNEY HARBOR. (Received October 26. 1.25 a.m.) SYDNEY. Oct. 25. A collision occurred in the harbor between a ferry boat and a. collier. The ferry’s lights were extinguished, and a large crowd of passengers were almost in a panic. Passengers were transferred to _ another ferry. The damage is not serious. MARY ISABEL OVERDUE. (Received 12.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 25. There is great anxiety in shipping circles as to the safety of the Mary Isabel, 48 days out from Whangape to Sydney.
