RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES. lscecial to tjm.es.j CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 26. Conditions were not too promising at Riccarton at five o'clock this morning, aiid as a good amount of rain had fallen during the night the tracks were a trifle on the slow side, hut nevertheless some creditable work was got through. Thrax and Stephanas commenced work by running four furlongs on the plough in 53 secs, Masterpiece and Counterfeit covered a mile and a quarter in 2min 15 secs, a journey that took Goldfinder and Countermine 2min 14 l-osecs to negotiate. Colleen Mary accounted for six furlongs in lmin 20secs, and Avarice and Somersault got to theend of 9 furlongs in 2min osecs. Xitlisdale and Heather Brae galloped 4 furlongs up the back in 52sec, and Milo did two circuits on the tan at half pace. Rose Noble and Miss Fry were companions in a mile and a-quarter gallop,. which occupied 2min 16 2-ssecs, while Tannhauser and Outlander got to the end of a. mile in lmin oOsecs. Crosbie ran the last, six furlongs of a mile in lmin 21secs., and Prim and Martin© were restricted! to a mile and a quarter gallop. Query left 7 furlongs behind in lmin 31 secs. / and Flambeau went a furlongs further in lmin 4S l-osecs. Southern Cross and Sapience ran a mile in lmin 51 2-ssecs, and Coroniform. put up the best gallop of the morning by reeling off a mile and a quarter in 2min msec. Pilrim’s Way went 5 furlongs in lmini 5 l-ssocs, and Nikon went a furlong further in lmin 11 l-osees. Anna Carlarovana, Editlia and May Dalrymple went half a-mile in oOsecs, a distance which took Northern Light 54sees, Pawky Lass 53secs, _Sea King oOsecs to complete, while Ivilts went 5 furlongs up the hack in lmin l-ssec. Armstrong galloped a mile and Ivrass was sent two rounds on the tan track. After breakfast the sun shone brightly and the tracks afforded excellent going. Meredo and Santa Claus ran a mile in lmin 54 3-ssccs, and Los Angelos was sent a mile and a-quarter gallop, which he completed in 2min 14secs. Poinsettia sprinted 3 furlongs up the back in 3S l-ssecs, and True Knightassisted hv Kimmona, loft the last 7 furlongs of a mile behind in lmin 32 secs. Genius went once round, and strode over the last 4 furlongs in 511 sec. Esperato and Bliss, who arrived yesterday, are looking' well, and were restricted to slow work on the tan. Muniura and Cronstadt went a mile and a quarter in 2min ISsec, and Grand Rose and Miss Rosslyn sprinted up the back. Art left four furlongs behind in 51 3-osecs, a task which took Bonny Glen olsees, Lourdes and Bonitas 51 2-5 secs and Alexis and The Nellie gelding olsocd to accomplish. St. Aidan and Ito were given a round over six flights of hurdles, the former giving a fine.exhibition of clean jumping. Brown Owl easily beat Scottish Star over 4 furlongs in olsees, Quarantine and Glenfinnan took 50 2-osecs, and Early Morn 52 2-ssecs to accomplish- the same task. Kohinoor easily beat Nightliglit over a mile, run in lmin oOsecs, and Eaglestone got to the end of 7 furlongs in lmin 27 3-ssecs. Passion and The Maritian- —Greek Maid filly ran 4 furlongs in 52 4-osecs and Rock Ferry accounted for the same distance in 53see.
