FOR REVENGE.

THE TAMWORTH TRACEDY.

DETAILS OF THE CRIAIE

(United Press Association—Copyright.)

SYDNEY, Oct, 26. The condition of Mrs Covers, shot by a farm laborer (Lawrence Lawless) is serious. She has a terrible wound on the face. It is believed that the tragedy is the outcome of the supposition on the part of Lawless that Airs Covers induced a young lady to whom he was paying court to throw him over. Lawless spent the morning and lunched with the Covers. He and the girl Covers had for some time been practising with the rifle which the murderer carried. Later Lawless visited a friend, and gave him £4O. which lie told him to hand to Ins mother if anything happened. After being shot, Airs Covers and her two children ran a couple of miles, seeking assistance.
