With tlxe large number of horses that arrived yesterday, the course at 1 liecarton this morning bore a soms that busv appearance, but there was vcy little fast galloping, half to vl.icequarter pacing being the rule. New arrivals include the New Zealand L..p horses Miscount and Domino and the Stewards’ Handicap horses Full Bate, Formby, Hohungatahi, and Ainsd-ale, all of whom are looking exceptionally well. Among those exercised this morning were the above mentioned horses, and Madam Madcap, Dazzling, Bliss, Sea King, Countermine, Colleen Mary, Pilgrim’s Way, Crosbic and Clan men, all of whom are engaged in the Steward's Handicap. The New Zealand Cup candidates Los Angelos, Prim, Goldfinder, Martime, Tannhauser, Rutlander, Cronstadt, and Nightlight; the Welcome Stakes lot, Peppin, Autumnus, Brown, Owl, Winning Way, Glade and Rod May, Dalrymple, Bonitas and the Martian—-Greek Mitid filly, and the Derby horses Masterpiece and l Counterfeit. A big contingent arrived from north by the Ulimaroa and Mararoa this morning. There were thirty-nine horses, including Lady Moutoa, Vibration, Rangiatua, Gold Battery, Emma. Big Blast, Merry Frank, Aimwell. Undecided, Allurement, San Lass, Kilostere, Bronze, Ermengarde, Boanerges, Electrakoff, Equitas, Goodwin Park, Projectile, Kauroaj Floater, Jan, St. Petersburg, Dearest, Hawick.
