THE GERMAN ARMY.

MUCH OVERRATED,,

MILITARY CRITIC’S OPINION

(United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received Nov. 1. 10.15 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 1.

The “Times’ ” military expert, after witnessing the German-French manoeuvres, forms the conclusion that the German army is much overrated. The German authorities are much mistaken in its invincibilty. Apart from numbers, confidence in itself as a high organisation is not present. There are no signs of superiority over the best foreign models, and in some ways it does not rise above a second-rate army trained by iteslf. The critic states that Germany’s artillery is much inferior to the French.
