five furlongs easily in Imin 6 2-ssecs, and San Lass covered three-quarters of a mile in lmin 211-secs. Electrakoff’s task comprised a seven furlongs gallop, which he reeled off in lmin 40secs. Big Blast got to the end of seven furlongs in Imm 37sccs, and Expansion and Tangeroa, finishing together, left half a- anile behind in 51 4-ssecs, while Crosbie took 50-secs, to run the same distance. John Bunyan did a good, working gallop and Ermengarde easily defeated Rangiatua and Undecided over four furlongs in 49 3-ssecs., the performance of the "Welcome Stakes candidates being higly satisfactory. Gold Battery and another ran six furlongs in lmin 22 4-ssecs, and Ahuapai and Sapience covered four furlongs in 52 1-5 secs. Bracken got to the end of a- six furlongs gallop in lmin lSsecs, and Midnight Sun and Royal Scotch negotiated six furlongs in lmin 17secs. Full Rate, pulling hard, went the last four of five furlongs in olsecs, and the Stewards’ Handicap candidate is. especially fit. Oka, with a light weight up, .left four furlongs behind in 50 1-5 secs, and Kauroa sprinted the same distance in 57secs. Eaglestone was going hotter than Master Paul at the end of a four furlongs run in 52secs, and the following horses performed light tasks: Foile, Effort, Amalgam, Tannliauser, Glade, Bandore. Alexis, Winning V/ay, Aut-umnus, Coll, Emery, Bliss, Uinniona, Miss Fry. Corry, Clanmena, Rose Noble, "Sea King, Nitlisdale, Miscount, Morecambe, Milo. Longstcp, Merrivonia, Floater, Labor Day, Los Angelos, Southern Cross, Rock Ferry, Aim wed, Genius, Bronze, Dan Leno and Equitas. There was practically no fast work accomplished. After the breakfast interval Turbine clashed over three furlongs on the tan in 36secs, a smart performance. Yeodel ran half a mile on the plough in 52secs, Ireland running five furlongs on the same track in lmin 4 4-ssecs. Holiungatahi sprinted down the straight.
