RISE IN OCCIDENTAL CONSOLIDATED.
ISPECIAL TO TIMEB.3 AUCKLAND, Nov. 6. Generally business was brisk in mining shares on the Exchange this morning. Occidental consolidated had a sharp rise from 2s lOd. the opening sale, to 4s Id before the 10 o’clock call ended. Further transactions took place during the morning, and at the noon call the first lot of Occidentals were transferred at 4s, then free selling brought the price down to 3s sd, after which further parcels were placed at 3s 6d. This is a really remarkable rise in face of the fact that until the noon call no news was posted regarding any further developments in the mine. Some 7000 of these shares were transferred at the noon call. During the interval before the 3 o’clock call the news which came to hand was not so reassuring, and the shares starting at 3s 8d dropped rapidly to 3s 6d. WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.
