FOOTBALL.

NORTHERN UNION GAME. AUSTRALASIA BEATS ENGLAND. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, Nov. 8. The Australasian footballers defeated England by 19 points to 10. Five thousand people were present at the match. The ground was very sloppy. England, who were strongly represented, pressed their opponents at the start, and fine passing among the three-

quarters ended in Davis scoring. Thomas converted. Francis promptly retaliated! .with a brilliant .try, which he failed to convert. Thomas secured a goal front a .free kick, and then Francis scored for the visitors again, but no goal resulted. Thence onwards the visitors had all the best of the play, Farnsworth, Cann, and Hal let, scoring in rapid succession, from which two goals were kicked by Francis and Cann. England at this period seldom looked dangerous. At hair-time the score was: Astralasia 19, England 7. In the second 1 half England tackled desperately. and prevented their opponents increasing their score, while for them Davies obtained a try. England subsequently missed several good chances through faulty passing.
