A beauty show, for which Rome lias found time, despite all the anxiety that prevails as a result of the war with Turkey, brought together what is declared to be the greatest bevy of beauties ever seen in Italy Eighteen districts were represented, and the competitor whose proud and much-envied conquest it was to be adjudged the winner, was Signorina Ceccani. Since the result of the competition was announced Signorina Ceceani has been so pestered with offers of marriage that her parents have been compelled to send their daughter into the country to escape all the desperate lovers by whom her hand is being sought.
