FIRES.
A HOUSE DESTROYED

At three o’clock yesterday morning a six-roomed house owned and occupied by H. Moffatt at Kairanga, was destroyed by fire. The inmates only just had time to get out, and nothing in the building was saved. The building was insured for £2OO in the Sun Office, and the contents for £250 in the Farmers Mutual Office.
BLAZE IN LAMPTON QUAY. WELLINGTON, Nov. 20. A fire broke out to-night in A. Lindsay’s boot premises on Lambton Quay. Tlie building was saved, but a heavy stock of boots and shoes sustained severe damage through fire and water. The insurances are not ascertainable.
