A BOY DROWNED
(Per Press Association.) WHANGAREI, Nov. 20. The police have received information that a six-year-old boy. Keith Osborne, was drowned at Kaimamaku, 30 miles north of Wbangarei, yesterday. The details to hand are meagre. A BUGGY ACCIDENT. AUCKLAND, Nov. 20. Air. Wesley Spragg, president of the New Zealand* Alliance,’ was thrown from a buggv, which capsized, owing to the horse bolting. Air .Spragg was rendered unconscious, and was rather severely injured. He is progressing as satisfactorily as can be expected, but his condition is causing his friends anxiety. CAPSIZED BOAT CAUSES' DROWNING. WELLINGTON, Nov. 20. Antonio Ferrati, aged 23, and Roberta Pezins left Alana. Island yesterday morning in a small boat, and when crossing the bar of Porirua harbor a violent squall upset the boat. Ferrati attempted to swim to the approaching rescue boat, but sank, and was not seen again. Pezins bung on to the overturned boat till rescued. Deceased was a native of Italy. He had not been long in the Dominion, and has no relations ju the Dominion. ANOTHER DROWNING FATALITY. CARTERTON. Nov. 20. A serious drowning accident occurred at the Lake Ferry yesterday. TFour men, George Duning. Silas Davis, John Robinson, and Alorlev Saxton, were crossing the lake at the ferry, when the boat capsized. All were precipitated into the water. Saxton swam ashore, and succeeded lit assisting two companions to land, but Dunning was washed out to sea. The body was found this morning on the AYhangamoana beach. Deceased was aged about 30 years, and had been employed by George Hume. Tauara, Lower Valley.
CLOT OF BLOOD IN THE HEART. A woman named Horn died suddenly at Greytown yesterday. A clot of blood lodging in the heart caused immediate death. Deceased had been employed at J. -Jury’s place, Ponatahi. HEART FAILURE. DUNEDIN, Nov. 20. Alr J. Strang, ALA., president of tlie Draughts Club, while playing a game in the club rooms on Saturday evening was taken suddenly ill, and l expired .shortly after admission to the hospital. He was 61 years of age, and was engaged in coaching university students. Ho leaves a, widow and two sons resilient in the North Island. STRUCK BY A SQUALL NELSON, Nov. 20. A young man named Henry Bird was drowned at Tekaka yesterday through capsizing of a small sailing boat, which was strtick by a squall.
