It is also rumored that the sly-grog sellers and droppers of Invercargill are equally enthusiastic about the success of No-License there, but from motives of delicacy their signatures do not appear on the ‘‘business” men’s manifesto.*** • Messrs Baldwin and Bay ward, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunecliin, report that amongst the many applications for patents they have just' filed are: J. B. Rasmussen, Dannevirke. motor car lamp bracket: E. J. Armstrong. Eltham, teat cup : Rob or tsoin Marine Engine Brake Co,, Ltd., imam, controlling- speed of steam engines; A. T G. Symons. Christchurch, golf clubs; IT. T. G. Widerstrom, Port Vhuriri, tent poles.* Giving evidence at the Food Commission, in Sydney, Dr Ashburton 'Thompson said be regarded fish as inferior to lean moat as a tissue builder.
