POVERTY BAY CLUB

The usual meeting of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club was held last evening Present: Alessrs J. Webb (chairman), W. Hall, G. Douglas, S. Ledger, S. Doig, J. Corbett, A. Kirk and F. Snowden. Air E. P. Joyce, president, forwarded, a cheque for £5 ss, donation to the Club. It was decided to reply thanking the president for his generous donation, and the interest he was taking in the Club. It was decided to row the second trial fours on Friday next, December Ist, and the draw for the crews will take place to-morrow evening. The starter will be Air J. Webb, judges. Alessrs G. Douglas and A. Kirk. Changes in crews were notified as follow: —E. Kellett takes D. Grev 0. Hansen takes J. Lloyd. The visiting committee for the week was appointed as follows: Alessrs F. Snowden and S. Ledger. CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA. The New Zealand championship rowing regatta will be held on February 7th, 1912, at Lake Waihola, twenty-six miles south of Dunedin. The programme which lias been sent to the local rowing clubs, is as follows, and the entries for the events close on January 30th, 1912: —Alaiden Fours, first prize, £lO, second £3. 1 mile; Champion Single Sculls, first prize £lO, second prize £3, distance 11 miles; Maiden Double Sculls. £5 and £2, 1 mile ; Junior Fours. £l2 and £3, II miles; Champion Fours, £4O and £lO, 2 miles; Junior Double Sculls. £5 and £2, 1 mile; Champion Double Sculls, £ls and £5. 11 miles; Youths’ Fours, £7 and £2, 1 mile: Alaiden Pairs, £5 and £2, 1 mile; Champion Pairs, £ls and £5, L} miles; Junior Pairs, £6 and £2, 1 mile; Senior Fours (Ladies’ Plate) £ls and £5, 11 miles.
