GISBORNE CLUB. The folloAving matches were played on the Gisborne green on Saturday:—Geoige, Carter, Maher, and Bright (skip), 2~, beat ToAvnson, Robertson, Brown, and Ponsford (skip), 20; Humphrey, Smallbone, and Redstone (skip), 20, beat Ashton, Price, and W. Pettie (skip), 19. TURANGANUI CLUB. There ay as a large gathering of bonders on the green of tho Turanganui Club on Saturday. Besides several promiscuous games, a number of match games were played, the results of Avhich were:— —Hird Pairs. — A. J. Nicol and B. Hird (skip) (5 points) 32 beat C. Taylor and I. S. Simson (scr.) 20.—Hird and his partner got the lead early in the game, and held the advantage right throughout. This game was one of the semi-finals, and Nicol and Hird are hoav in the final. —Bennett Cup.— M. G. Nasmith, jun., 22 beat W. lloaa’ard 15. —Nasmith was 13 to 2 on tlie Bth head, and 22 to 8 on the 17th head, ultimately Avinning by seven points. S. Wootton 18 beat W. Paltridge 14. — This Avas a good game. On the 7th head the players Avere 5 all, and on the 11th 8 all. On the 15th head Paltridge led by 12 to 9, but Wootton recovered liis position on the 17th head Avith 13 to 12. By getting in his four boAvls on the ISth head, Wootton got a load of five points. This Paltridge could not overcome, and suffered defeat by four points. S. Wootton 17 beat W. HoAvard 13. — HoAvard put up a good game against the holder of the cup. Wootton had a lead of one point on the Bth head, 6 to 5, and the same position Avas maintained on tho 18th head with 13 to 11. Wootton got in two tAvos on the remaining heads against a tAVo secured by HoAvard, and thus Avon by four points. Tho folloAving is the position in the competition at the conclusion of the fifth Aveek’s play:—
