CYCLING.
BRITANNIA CLUB'S SPORTS. The entries for the sports meeting, to be held in the Victoria Domain on Boxing Day, under the auspices of the Britannia Cycling and Athletic Club, closed on Saturday night. The secretary reports very satisfactory entries, especially in the cvcling events, and the number necessitates the running of several events in heats. The committee have worked hard for the success of the meeting, and, weather permitting, hope to make the fixture the most interesting meeting of the district. The cycling events will, no doubt, furnish some of the most exciting racing seen in the district for some years, the handicapper expressing the opinion that owing to the improvement in the riding it is most difficult to separate a number of the competitors. The committee hope with a first-class programme to provide some very keen competitions. The City Band will attend the meeting, so that everything is promising for a most enjoyable afternoon. The programme is timed to start at 11 o’clock sharp.
