RESIDENTS -IN THE SOUTH AGAIN TROUBLED.
LpER PEESS ASSOCIATION. ] DUNEDIN. Dec. 28. Heavy rain has been falling almost the whole of -the day, and residents of iNorth-Easti.Valley, who- suffered severely. .'tom. Sunday as a .result of a cloudburst. are again having a very-anxious time. This .-afternoon a few residents on the lower levels;were alarmed,at the rise of Lindsay’s Creek, but no actual damage was done. Rain fell heavily, however, throughout the evening, and it is understood that there was' two* feet or three feet of water in Roberts’ store, near the Gardens, at 11 p.m. It is also stated that cars were unable to proceed beyond the Gardens after 10.15 p.m. _ At 1.15 p.m. rain was still falling steadily.
