GOVERNMENT APPOINTMENTS
JUST GAZETTED. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATIONJ WELLINGTON. Jan. 12. The following appointments in the Lands Department are gazetted: Mr H. M. Sheet, to he Commissioner of Crown Lands at Auckland, vice Mr E. G. Goldsmith ; All' H. D. M. Haszard to be Commissioner of Crown Lands at W estland, vice Mr G. H. M. McLure; Mr G. H. M. McLure to be Commissioner of Crown Lands at Southland, vice Mr H. M. Skeet: Mr H. G. Price to be chiefs draughtsman at Christchurch, and Mr F. "A. Thompson to be chief draughtsman at Napier. Messrs K. M. Graham (topographer), E. L. Hornibrook _ (draughtsman), and E. S. W’ood (assistant draughtsman) have been appointed experts to the Department of Defence. Mr H. Pauli has been appointed an inspector under the Sale of Food and Drugs Act. Messrs J. F. Warren OVaipori), J. G. Leckie (Temuka), F. A. Franks, W r . J. Williams (Russell), and R. Candy (Otnki) are appointed inspectors under the Fisheries Act. Mr A. McDonald (at present temporary officer) is to be a permanent meat inspector in the Department of"'Agriculture, and Mr J. W. Collavd, temporary officer, is to be a permanent orchard inspector.
