WORST EXPERIENCED FOR YEARS TAVIUNI'S ROUGH PASSAGE. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION COPYRIGHT] (Received Januarv 16, 1.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 15. Storms are raging in the country districts. Telegraphic communication is badlv interrupted. The Union Company’s Taviuni arrived from Samoa and encountered terrific weather. Boats were carried away and railings and deck fittings were smashed and washed overboard. It is the worst hurricane that has been experienced at the Islands for years.
