The flight lasted 29hrs oomins, and they finished in a snowstorm. The thermometer registered four degrees below zero Fahrenheit. When they alighted there was no habitation in sight. Their provisions were frozen, and they were foodless for three days. They were obliged to leave the balloon, but saved a basket of instruments.
