SWIMMING.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE. (per PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ' CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 21. The annual conference of Swimming Association delegates was held this morning. It was decided to recommend the Council to establish a New Zealand diving championship, including running, standing, spring-board and high dives. It was agreed to urge the Council to secure representation on the Australasian Council. A recommendation was adopted to exclude from amateur swimming persons who took part in professional football. Regarding payment of travelling expenses, the delegates recommended the Council to facilitate an interchange of swimmers as far as possible. It was agreed that under race rules a competitor be deemed to have finished when lie has touched the winning post with one hand clearly out of the water; that the. officials at a meeting should not have power to alter the order of championships; that the period for applications for records be extended to 14 days; that the “frog kick” be insisted on in the breast stroke championship. It was agreed that the New Zealand championships for 1914 be allotted to Hawke’s Bay.
