BILLIARDS.

ANOTHER YOUTHFUL MARVEL. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH ,Feb. 24. On Friday evening a billiard match was played between Fred Farrell, formerly manager for George Gray, and Master Clark .McConacliy, a sixteeen-year-old boy from Timaru. The game was 750 up. Farrell received 300. -On his first visit to the table the youth produced 146, relying entirely on the losing hazard and playing the stroke with surprising accuracy and force. Among Ms otner contributions were breaks of 80, 66, and 59, his average being slightly over 12 for each cue. Taking into consideration the youth ol the player the performance was a good one, and comparisons were drawn between McConacliy's- playing and that of George Gray at the same age. It is understood that on the table on which McConacliy is accustomed to playing at Timaru he has been able to compife breaks of 700 odd. - . The game resuulted in a win lor the boy by "73 points. , The loser's best breaks were 16 and 42, and several over 20. GRAY CHALLENGES INMAN.
