CHRISTCHUR*. H MEETING. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 24. At the athletic meeting held to-day under the auspices of the Canterbury centre, N.Z.A.A.A., the one mile fiat handicap was won by N. V . Hill (scr) in 4 min. 25 3-5 secs, and the 100 yards handicap by R, Opie (scr) - in lOsecs, a very close finish. J. Mcllolm won the throwing the hammer competition, his throw being 135 ft beating the Australian record from a seven-foot circle of 132 ft. 2in.
