TE HAPARA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The To Hapara School Committee met last evening. Present: Messrs. E. K. Pas-ley' (chairman), W. Hardy, J, Golding, and C. Thomas. headmaster’s report showed that 47 Pupils were admitted and 29 had left, making the total roll 223. There was a daily attendance of sometimes 202. The staff had been increased by the appointment of Mr. Kirby as assistant master and Miss Ima Bushnell as trainee. Miss Cook was leaving to' England in March for a nine months’ holiday. When tlie new desks were ready Primer 4 and Standard 1, consisting of 55 pupils, would be moved into tlie Methodist Hall until alterations had been carried outAs several more children were joining the school further accommodation would he required. The examination results were before the committee, and were considered satisfactory in. the face of the inconvenience caused during the year, such as understaffing, epidemics, land accommodation.
