CYCLING.
BRITANNIA CLUB’S RACE. The Britannia Cycle Club held a race for youths yesterday afternoon, the course being to Makaraka and back. The weather was all that could he desired, and a really interesting contest was witnessed by the large number of spectators who assembled at the starting and turning points. The winner turned up in W. Jackson, who had a handicap of 3min. 30sec. N. Bishop (3min. 50sec) was second, and J. Croskery (40 sec) third. J. Fraser (lOsec) secured the prize for fastest time, covering the distance in 24min. 23 2-5 sec. W. Jackson (25min 56 2-5 sec) was the next fastest rider.
