SUVA MEETINGS. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT) SUVA, April 8. At the annual rifle meeting, for the Governor's Clip, six ranges, J. H. Butler was first with 181, and D. Chamcrs second with 180. Tom Hogan, ex-Australian champion, under the supervision of a committee, completed forty hours’ ball punching, which is claimed to he a world’s record. SPORTS AT PALMERSTON. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON N . April 9. There was wet weather for the holiday. The principal attraction was the Caledonian sports, at which the attendance was a record. R. G. Graham won the Caledonian Cup, R. McKenzie won the silver cup and president's gold medal, and for most points in pipe music, and T. J. Affaray the medal for most points in dancing. W. C. Taylor won the cycling challenge cup. Tn throwing the hammer Patrick Ford broke the North Island record, throwing 98ft llin. .
