DISTRICT NEWS.
OTOKO. (From our own Correspondent.) OTOKO, May 31. The new railway station buildings, platform, and all other necessary essentials are now nearly completed. The work is being carried out under the supervision of the Public Works Department, andi reflects great credit on all those who are engaged upon l't. I learn that it is proposed to remove the local school building from its present site in the lower township to an Education Board’s section near Mr Crosby’s accommodation house. Fine weather has 'been experienced in the Otoko district during the past three weeks, but has now broken tip, and the roads are now in a very muddy state.
Settlers here are loud in their praise of the up-to-date news published in the Time.Sj.and the recent enlargement of that journal. There is no doubt that the enterprise of the Gisborne Publishing Company is much a.ppi-e----eiated, not only in Otoko, but in all the country districts.
