THE FOXTON FIRE.
MCZr DESTRUCTIVE IN THE
TOWN’S HISTORY
(Abridged from P.A. telegram.) PALMERSTON N., June 3. The fire was the most destructive in the history of Foxton. Many of the buildings destroyed were well-known landmarks... A good deal of stock was saved from various buildings. Boyes’ (dentists) and Airs Nye were the only ones to lose everything. The Methodist Church was a comparatively new building. The furnishings were saved- Healey’s building had also been recently erected. No insurances are yet available, and it is impossible as yet to estimate the amount of the damage.
