BATHE PICTURES

There is not one attraction, but many, in the programme, at piesent being screened at riis Majesty's Theatre- For genuine entertainment of pleasing; variety it would be hard to beat the current series. A good audience assembled last nignt, and by its hearty applause testified unmistakably its appreciation of the excellence of the fare provided. In point of merit, perhaps, “The Girl and the Motor Goat," an exceptionally fine spectacular drama,, takes pride of place. In the storm a young inventor falls in love with a wealthy girl, whose mother however prefers a wealthier suitor. A big motor race is to take place, and a firm of builders offers the young man a handsome sum if he can design a boat which will win the race. Me succeeds in creating a flyer, but his rival hires a ruffian to put the new engine out of commission. The inventor catches the man just as he is about to tamper with the machinery, and a fierce struggle takes place, in which the owner of the boat receives a crack on the head, which places him hors do combat. Just* as the very last hope has departed, the girl gamely enters the motor boat, and takes her lover’s place in the race, A particularly fine view of the race is given, the contesting .boats flying through the,water at a .marvellous .rate. • The new engine outdistances the other competitors, and lands the prize, a mid the greatest enthusiasm. .Other pictures are “A Day in a. Circus," “A Child of the West,” “A Sister’s Love.” and “A Convenient Burglar.” The remaining films are of merit, and altogether the nrogramme is as entertaining as has been presented for a good time past. This popular series will be repeated to-night. .
