ORMOND'S NEW CLERGYMAN.

REV- FATHER CURRAN ENTERTAINED AT AUCKLAND. Rev. Father Curran, who has been transferred from St. Benedict’s parish, Auckland, to Ormond, was the guest tat a social in his honor in St. Benedict’s Hall on Friday, 14th inst. The spacious hall was crowded, and on the platform were many priests and public men. Reference was- made to the work done in his late parish by Fatlier Curran, especially in the schools and clubs. He was the recipient of many valuable presents, among them being a purse of sovereigns from the parishioners and an illuminated address, and a gold cross from the children of St. Benedict’s School, and stock and pyx from the members of St. Benedict s Club. . .-.p Many apologies were received from friends who were unable to attend, among others bein''- Messrs- Bradney and Payne, M.P.’s. and Hon. A. M. Mvers, Minister for Railways.
