TIMARU-CHRISTCHURCH ROAD RACE, [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, July 16. At a meeting of the North Canterbury centre of the N.Z. Athletic and Cycling Union last evening, it was reported that the committee had already collected upwards of £2OO towards the prize fund for this year s Timaru to Christchurch road race, which has been set down for September 12. . Jugding from further promises made” it was thought that the prize fund would reach £3OO by AY ednesday next, when the collecting lists wnl finally close. It was resolved that the race should be handicapped conjunctly bv the North and South Canterbury handicappers, and that entries should closeon August 24.
