ADAIR AND LOWE WIPED OUT.

[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, July 16. The annual tourament of the New Zealand Boxing Association was conI tinued to-night, and was poorly at- ■ tended owing to the pouring wet night. Among those present were > the Governor, Hon. AV. F. Massey, Hon. A. L. Herdman, Hon. W. Fraser. Following are the results Feather. —Barr (Wanganui), beat Digbv (Christchurch); Mills (Canterbury), beat Adair (Gisborne). Heavy-weigh t—Matthew son (Otago) heat Lowe (Gisborne) ; Fitzsimmons (Timaru), beat McQ.uarrie -(South- — Kutner (Wellington.) beat Payne (Auckland); McMinn (Christchurch), heat O’Farrell (Otago) Gunn (Timaru), heat McMorran (Wellington. Middle-weight. Monaghan (Ohakune), beat Finnic (Wellington). Light-weight.—Stewart . (Wellington), beat Bond (Wanganui. I - Welter. Wateliorn (Manawatu), beat Mitchell (Auckland). | CATE CONFIDENT. Bv Telegraph—Special Correspondent , ' WELLINGTON, July 16. ! Cate is confident of putting up a good performance. He "drew a bye for the next round. MR. IKE FAKE IN THE ROLE OF j PROPHET. i Writing to the Editor of the “Gisborne Times” yesterday, Mr. Ike Fake sa y S; —As regards the Gisborne team: Lowe, heavy, will win outright. ■ Cate, middle, will win Ist bout, but will go out on his 2nd, “on points.” ! Adair will win his Ist and 2nd bouts ' and go out in his 3rd bout ‘on points.’ He may possibly be runner-up in chamj pionship. If Adair were a heavy ’ hitter lie would probably win the championship. Adair is slow to follow up an advantage gained, which 1 will be noticeable should he meet Barr, , (Masterton), or Jervois (Manawatu.) I predict the following to win championships: — Heavy.—Lowe, Gisborne. Middle. O. Tancred, Petone (if competing.) j Welter —-Wateliorn, Manawatu. [ Light.— Porter, Wellington (if com- ' peting). • • Feather.—Barr, Masterton. Bantam.—Wbite, Westport. [As far as Lowe and Adair are concerned, it will be seen both men have been beaten. —Ed, G-TJ
