meeting of TURANCANUNI CLUB’S COMMITTEE.

PLAY BY ELECTRIC LIGHT PROPOSED.

A committee meeting of the above Club was held lest-evening at the Cosmopolitan Club, the president (Mr I. S. Simson) in the chair. It was unanimously decided to appoint Mr Harry Lockie as secretary to the Club, the president -expressing the opinion "that under Mr Lockie's able secretaryship the Tnrangariut Bowling Club would greatly benefit ■during the coming season. The following gentlemen signified their intention of donating trophies for the coming season: Hon. Sir •James Carroll, Jlon. AV. D. S. MacDonald, Messrs John Sheridan, Dan Barry, S. "Wcotton, I. S. Simson and David Barry.

Hie following new members were nominated: Messrs IT. Lockie, John Maliony, Herbert Williams, Ben Dudfield, 0. Burns and P. Howard. It was derided to make inquiries for the purpose of lighting the inner green of 4 rinks during the summer evenings with electricity and opening the green two or three nights a week from 7..‘10 to 10.30, making a small charge to all players who were to be admitted bv ticket only. The power bouse adjoins the green so the expense should be very small, so there is every probability of bowling by electric light dining next season-
