PERSONAL NOTES.
Captain Hart and Captain Taylor were passengers for Napier by the Monowai yesterday. Mr. H. B. Williams was a passenger bv the same steamer.
Mr. J. Daniell, Union S.S. Co.’s salvage expert, left for the South yesterday.
Mr H de Lautour left for Napier yesterday. The anniversay of the Pope's coronation was celebrated in the Sistine Chapel with great pomp. His Holiness is extremely well.
A London cable announces the death of ex-Judge Wills.
An Auckland P.A. wire says that Ladv Campbell, widow of the late Sir .John Logan Campbell, died yesterday morning, after a short illness.
Eight Rev. Monsignor O’Reilly, the oldest parish priest in New Zealand, is at present on a visit to Gisborne. He took a vem* active part in the establishment of the Roman Catholic Church in Gisborne, and is at present in charge of the Thames district. Father Dignan, late of Ormond, is his administrator at present. The Right Reverend gentleman returns to Auckland on Wednesday next to attend the consecration of the altar erected at Otahuhu in memory of Ins parents. ________
