ENGLISH M.'SP. INTERVIEWED. [UNITED PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPTEIGHT] (Received August 29, 1.10 a.m.) ‘ NEW YORK,' August 28. Mr F. M. Smith, the British member of Parliament, interviewed, said that English public men were waiting Mr Borden’s (Canadian Premier) statement before expressing an opinion on the Canadian Navy question. Mr Borden’s attitude when in England touched the British imagination on an equality with Canada’s assistance during the South African war. ilr Walter Long said he did not doubt- that Canada would answer the Motherland’s need with a mighty shout, saying, “We will see the Navy sufficient for any occasion!”
