ANNUAL MEETING
Tlio third ordinary general meeting of the Gisborne Co-Operative Meat 81 uiWv Co., Ltd., was hold at the offices of Messrs Sheridan and Adair, Peel Street, last evening, there being a good attendance of shareholders. The trading account, profit and loss account, and balance sheet, copies of which had been previously sent out, were taken as read. The chairman of directors. Mr T. .1. Adair, in moving the adoption of the accounts, the auditors' report thereon, and the directors’ report to shareholders as published, expressed regret that the trading for the first part of the financial year had not been successful, but business was progressing most satisfactory under the new management, as was shown by the statement of accounts.
Continuing, he pointed out that only the very best of stock was now being purchased, which enabled the company to supply a better article than had previously been the case, and as a result the Company was receiving a much more extended support from consumers.
The accounts as published were adopted. Messrs A. G. Bcore and H. Mellor were re-elected auditors.
Mr T. J. Adair, who retired from the directorate- by rotation under the Company’s articles, was re-elected. Attention was drawn to the efficient manner in which the manager, Mr T. Halbert, the managing director, Mr G. R. Wylie, and the secretary. Mr iv. O. Do Cent, had carried out their respective duties, and a hearty vote of thanks to them, the staff and the chairman and Board of directors concluded the meteing.
