Cavalry in the barracks outside Wuchang arranged with the artillery to join. The latter failed at the last moment. General Ghimen was forewarned, and opened the city gates, admitting fifty mutineers, who wore immediately shot. Ho then despatched troops, who captured and executed 200. The remainder fled.
