He has proved himself to be a splendid hack and harness * Ahnont, the sire of Mousetrap, was sold at the late Henry Mace’s dispersal sale to Messrs Barber and Tye. of Melbourne, for 640 guineas. Almont holds the threemile world’s record of 6min 50sec, and has taken many prizes in the show ring, including champion at the Sydney Show. One of his sons recently brought 600 guineas in Melbourne. His body is faultless, and his legs clean, with large bone, while his feet are of the best. He was bred by Sir Geo. Clifford, and proved himself a good racehorse. His performances include: First Thompson Handicap (Wellington), first Jockey Club Handicap (Canterbury), and other valuable events.
