THEIR INTENTIONS EXPLAINED
ANOTHER STUDENTS' DEMONSTRATION. (Receii-ed October 11. 11.5 p.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, Oct. 11. The five Embassies have framed acollective Note couched in energetic non-commendatory terms declaring their intention to discuss the realisation of reforms in Asia, the Treaty of Berlin, and the Declaration of International Commission, 1880. Five thousand students, all armed with revolvers, despite the troops, forced their way to the Grand Hall of the Porte. The Minister for Marine left the Council and addressed them in explanation of the application of Article XXII., Avhich, he said, did not mean the granting of autonomies. The students hissed excitedly, and as the Minister continued longer, they yelled “Wo Avant Wax!” The Grand Vizier also spoke.
