NO FEARS FOR HER SAFETY
[PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM] NAPIER, Oct. 23
The steamer Weka, 54 tons, owned by Messrs Richardson and~ Co., Napier. went ashore at Makaramau, near Porangahau, late on Tuesday night. The vessel is firmly aground on a long sandy beach and, provided the weather improves, no fears are entertained for her safetv.
The crew got ashore without incident.
