MATCH AT TF. KAItAKA. A very enjoyable game was played at Te Karaka between the Alhambra Club and the Rangitira Club yester<lay. Olsen captained the town team and Foote the country eleven. Alhambra batted first and quickly compiled the respectable total of 134 runs. The principal run-getters were Winks (32), Lang (31), Atkinson (17), and McLisky (11). Ganes secured the best average for the country team (4 for 40).

Rangitira fared very badly at the wickets, going to pieces completely and could only total 21 in their initial attempt. The bowling of Scholium was almost unplayable, he- securing 6 wickets for 4 runs, and Olsen 4 for 14. Green was the only batsman to shape confidently, just reaching double figures. Following on the country team could only total 27 in their second attempt, McLisky being the destroying element, securing 7 for 7. Hansley (10) was the only batsman to reach double figures. Alhambra thus won by on innings and 86 runs. A pleasant repast was provided at ttio hotel for the and the ladies supplied afternoon tea, which was much appreciated. At the conclusion Olsen thanked the Rangitira Club on behalf of the visitors for the pleasant outing. Foote responded, and three hearty cheers were called for the ladies.
