SPEECHES BY SIGHTLESS MEN AT MASS MEETING.

Blind people were conspicuous in a procession which passed along the Thames Embankment, London, to Trafalgar Square, where a mass meeting was held to ventilate the grievances of the blind. At intervals in the procession were rows of blind men, women, and children with linked arms, who were guided by a seeing man in the middle of the row. A contrast to those pathetic groups was afforded by,men in fantastic garb — pierrot costumes, and the like— who were collecting money for the benefit of the blind from the spectators. The speakers at the mass meeting included two sightless.upon —ill truth, blind leaders of tlio blind. A resolution was adopted urging the Government to establish technical schools and national and municipal workshops for tlio capable blind, and to grant adequate pensions to the incapable and infirm blind.
